Will Tax Loss Harvesting Cause Year End Volatility?

Investing Insights

While we like what we see underneath the surface, today's video shares one concern that we have as the year end approaches: tax loss harvesting.

Many in the industry still advocate for "tax loss harvesting". While we think the practice is a bit silly (since we do not want to just let losses get away from us), many in the industry still practice the habit. As a result, given how the majority of stocks are negative year-to-date, it should not be a surprise if we see a pickup in selling in the coming days and weeks just because some are trying to harvest the loss for tax purposes.

However, once that is done, we would not be surprised to see a rally.
