Soft Landing Ahead?

Investing Insights

In today's video we talk about whether or not we will see a "soft" landing. The Federal Reserve has been trying to get inflation under control mainly by raising the Fed Funds interest rate. Last week's latest inflation data shows that their efforts have been paying off. But does that mean that they will have engineered the ever-sought-after "soft" landing?

We also review some of the key stock market indices and compare them to the "average" stock for the year. Given that the NASDAQ has announced that they are going to do a "special rebalance" of their key index, it is apparent that they are recognizing how skewed the index has become.

To make the point, we explain the current index weighting calculation with a Michael Jordan analogy.
